This aerial photo offers a panoramic view of Hazelden's 500-acre campus in Center City, Minn. Situated among lakes, woods and walking paths about 50 miles northeast of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Hazelden has been a leader in the addiction field since its inception in 1949.

Patients live on one of Hazelden's treatment units during their stay. There are eight primary care units (three for women and five for men) and two extended care units (one for men, one for women), with each serving about 22 patients.

The Lavinia Neill Meditation Center offers patients, staff and alumni the quintessential setting for prayer and meditation, quiet and reflection. Built on the site of the Old Lodge, the 2,500 square-foot structure is a sign of Hazelden's unwavering commitment to spiritual growth.

Patients attend lecture three times a day at Hazelden, where they learn about the disease of addiction, how Hazelden's treatment program works, and Hazelden alumni are successfully building lifelong recovery in their own lives.

Courtyards and tranquil gardens abound on the spacious Center City campus affording patients with many opportunities for reflection and meditation.

The Richmond Walker Building serves as headquarters to Hazelden Publishing, the division that produces Hazelden books, pamphlets, videos, curricula, and more published items. Hazelden is the world's leading publisher of materials on addiction and recovery.

Flags, representing the nations of current patients, students, and visiting professionals are flown in front of Butler Center--the administrative offices of the world-renowned Hazelden Foundation.
