Substance abuse often goes unrecognized in a primary care environment. Depending on the clinical setting, the prevalence of alcohol and substance abuse in the physician's and other healthcare professionals daily practice may be as high as 50%. However, it often goes unrecognized, even when medical conditions are precipitated or exacerbated by the addiction.

Cost - Cost varies by program location. Air travel, ground transportation and hotel accommodations are additional and the responsibility of the participant. Scholarship is available to qualified medical students, residents, physicians and other healthcare professionals.
