. . . Because you get more . . . Because we save lives
Because we offer MORE Hazelden, with its commitment to life long recovery, is continuing to lead the field of addiction treatment with breakthrough, life-saving programming. Hazelden's two-time award winning Web and phone-based MORE (My Ongoing Recovery Experience) program gives people something no other treatment provider can give – 18 months of support after treatment. Recovery is not about a 28-day stay in a residential program, but rather an ongoing process that is adjusted for an individual's recovery needs. Research shows that those who actively engage in continuing care over longer periods of time have increased rates of recovery. MORE is one more continuing care option in Hazelden's extensive continuum of care. Research has shown that MORE participants have significantly better outcomes than non-participants, even when controlling for motivation levels. Hazelden can provide a never-before-achieved continuity of contact with people in early recovery, helping them to deeply integrate the essential changes that make lifelong recovery possible. We offer a better chance of recovery – we save lives. MORE is included in the cost of treatment for individuals who complete adult primary residential care. It is also offered for a reasonable fee to other adult program participants. This cutting edge program allows participants to continue Hazelden's emphasis on Twelve Step recovery through workbook tasks, spiritual exercises, connection to the Hazelden alumni community and – most importantly – access to a licensed addiction counselor who assists in proactively handling the challenges of early recovery. The MORE program allows participants to take the exceptional care they receive while on a Hazelden campus with them as they readjust back into their home lives. Because you get more
Because we save lives Hazelden bases its work in addiction treatment on solid, scientific research and exacting patient follow-ups. It is the only addiction treatment program that has a research center. For over 20 years, Hazelden has been monitoring treatment outcomes (how patients are doing after addiction rehab treatment) and our data shows success. MORE patients who access a large number of program modules have significantly higher abstinence rates than patients who access few or no modules, even when controlling for motivation levels. In one study module users had a continuous abstinence rate of 86% at 6 months post-treatment and 82% at 12 months post-treatment. Patients, families and other interested people must be careful when comparing the "success rates" (known as outcomes) of different alcohol and drug addiction programs. Treatment centers differ in how outcomes are measured, and Hazelden reports the percentage of patients who have maintained continuous abstinence for the entire follow-up period. This is an important statistic for comparisons. Different methods of reporting outcomes make it difficult to directly compare outcome rates from one agency to another. Other addiction treatment agencies might report on the percentage of patients who were abstinent in the 30 days prior to their follow-up phone call. We ask you to look carefully at how others measure their outcomes, and then you will understand the rate of success we achieve at Hazelden. We are here to answer your questions or begin the admissions process any day, any time. Call 800-257-7810.
