Healthy Relationship Workshops - Support yourself, your loved one and your family in this journey

On Tuesdays: dates opening up regularly as the workshops fill up. Please see dates to the left and register for a time that works for you. This program is 4 consecutive workshops, from the date of your first attended workshop.

Are you wondering how to support your loved one? Maybe they are just entering treatment or continuing to struggle with substances and other issues, or maybe they do not want to get help. Are you just not sure what to do and you feel like you have tried everything?

These 4 consecutive 90-minute workshops have been developed to specifically support you and provide you with helpful skills to navigate what to say, how to ask and clarify your role with your loved one. It also provides skills to increase your own wellbeing. We believe that families and friends are a vital part of this process, and we want to make sure you have the information and support needed to navigate this journey!

The skills taught in this program are grounded in an evidenced-based approach called the Community Reinforcement and Family Training approach (CRAFT). CRAFT was specifically created for family members who have a loved one struggling with substance use. Through our weekly educational group workshops (90-minutes), family members will be able to connect with peers and gain insights from credentialed family professionals.

Workshop Details

How do I say that?

This workshop will provide evidence-based effective communication skills that will increase your confidence in sharing your concerns with your loved one, increase your ability to listen to your loved one and increase your confidence to communicate your concerns, needs and expectations clearly.

What are boundaries? And why do I need them?

This workshop will provide better understanding of what boundaries are, and how they are related to your own responses. These evidence-based skills will support you in understanding behavioral patterns, and how to interact in the most effective way to support boundaries and growth.

What is my role in my loved one's journey??

This workshop will provide you with evidence-based skills that support you in knowing how to reinforce healthy behavior that supports recovery or allow for natural consequences to encourage change.

What about me? What do I do if...??

This workshop will provide you with evidence-based problem-solving skills to address issues with your loved one on this journey. It will also provide you with the setting personal goals around your own self-care, stress management and personal recovery plan.

These group workshops benefit participants by gaining proven skills to support healthier choices, improved relationships, and better recovery outcomes.  Learning skills and preparing for situations before they occur helps family members feel empowered to respond versus react.

Optional Individual Coaching

While these workshops alone will provide beneficial skills, we have seen the benefit of combining these with individualized coaching. We strongly recommended this combination as coaching sessions are individualized and instrumental in applying the skills learned in workshops to meet your goals and better your own wellbeing. If you would like more information on adding 6, 30-minute coaching sessions, please click here to register or email families@hazeldenbettyford.org for more information.
