Are you an adolescent (age 13-19) with a parent, sibling or loved one struggling with addiction?  Maybe they are just entering treatment or continuing to struggle with substances and other issues, or maybe they do not want to get help. Are you just not sure what to do and you feel like you have tried everything? These 4 consecutive 60-minute workshops have been developed to specifically support teens and provide helpful skills to navigate the disease of addiction with what to say, how to set boundaries, and clarify your role with your loved one. It also provides skills to increase your own wellbeing, prevention, and resilience moving forward. We believe that families and friends are a vital part of this process, and we want to make sure you have the information and support needed to navigate this journey! 

       Workshop Details

What is Substance Use Disorder and What is Recovery? This first workshop will provide information about the disease model and understanding the facts of addiction and recovery. 

What is My Role? This workshop provides evidence-based information on understanding how addiction has affected our lives and skills to express our needs and keep ourselves safe.   

What Can I Do? This workshop provides evidence-based skills in setting and holding boundaries and healthy communication with our loved ones in increase our own wellbeing.  

What is Next? This workshop provides evidence-based problem-solving skills, resilience, and prevention skills to take care of ourselves.  

These group workshops benefit participants by gaining proven skills to support healthier choices, improved relationships, and better recovery outcomes.  Learning skills and preparing for situations before they occur helps family members feel empowered to respond versus react.
