Hazelden Betty Ford's world renowned three (3) day family program returns to The Betty Ford Center!
Families often feel overwhelmed and confused on how to help loved ones who are struggling with substance use. They are often at the point that they have tried everything to stop their person from using and are unaware of what to try next.
You might be at a loss! You may be asking "how did this happen?!" or "how did we get here?!" and then wondering, "what do I do now?!" It is likely that you are unsure of where to turn. and have been given advice that doesn't seem to work or been told to "let them hit rock bottom" but are not sure what that means!
The Family Program offers:
- Guidance through education and evidence-based skills on substance use and mental health to apply to your unique situation to increase your confidence in supporting your person and family
- Learn how to support positive change, allow for natural consequences, learn how to effectively problem solve for the unknown, gain an in depth understanding of mental health and substance use disorders, in addition to learning and practicing communication and boundary skills
- Provide valuable insights to the treatment process and opportunity to connect with current (non-related) patients.
While it may not always feel like it, there is support for you and much HOPE to be had!
Hazelden Betty Ford's three-day, Monday through Wednesday 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. PST, in-person Family Program was created to specifically serve family members, who have loved ones struggling with substance use disorder and/or co-occurring mental health concerns.
This program offers you an opportunity to experience a valuable connection and skill-building program while on the The Betty Ford Center Campus. This on-site program offers family members also an opportunity to:
- Process your own emotions, thoughts and pain with others that understand!
- Connect with other family members and recognize you are not alone!
- Meet current patients (non-related), and hear from them about their treatment processes, challenges, and learnings
- Gain insights and understanding that is often difficult to grasp when talking with your own loved one
- Hear others' stories, and share some of your own
- Participate in visitation with your loved one daily (if applicable, 4:30 - 5:00 p.m.)
