One day Family Program - Plymouth, MN
Families everywhere experience heartache, confusion, anger, sadness, guilt, isolation, etc. when they have a loved on struggling with substance use disorder/co-occurring mental health concerns. Unfortunately, family members often endure these struggles alone. At Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, we believe the road to recovery is for everyone, not just the individual in your life who is struggling with substance use/misuse.
While it may not always feel like it, there is support for you and much HOPE to be had!
Hazelden Betty Ford's one-day (9 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. CST), in-person Family Program was created to specifically serve parents/guardians, who have loved ones between the ages of 12-25 years old struggling with substance use disorder and/or co-occurring mental health concerns.
This program is a valuable connection and skill-building experience, on-site in Plymouth, Minnesota that offers parents/guardians an opportunity to:
-Connect with other family members and recognize you are not alone!
-Meet current patients (non-related), and hear from them about their treatment processes, challenges, and learnings
-Gain insights and understanding that is often difficult to grasp when talking with your own loved one
-Learn and practice evidenced-based CRAFT skills around positive communication and how to better understand your loved one¿s behaviors/choices, from CRAFT-trained staff members
-Hear others' stories, and share some of your own
-Participate in visitation with your loved one (if applicable, 4:30 - 5:00 p.m.)
Coffee, tea, lunch and snacks are provided. Once registered for the program you will receive an email that will provide site specific information for the program.
