Families everywhere experience heartache, confusion, anger, sadness, guilt, isolation, etc. when they have a loved one struggling with substance use disorder/co-occurring mental health concerns. Unfortunately, family members often endure these struggles alone. At Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, we believe the road to recovery is for everyone, not just the individual in your life who is struggling with substance use/misuse. This is why we have created multi-tiered intervention options for families.

While it may not always feel like it, there is support for you and much HOPE to be had!

Hazelden Betty Ford's one-day (9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. CST), in-person one day Family Program was created to specifically serve family members, who have loved ones struggling with substance use disorder and/or co-occurring mental health concerns.

This program is a valuable connection and skill-building experience, on-site at The Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, CA that offers family members an opportunity to:

  • -Connect with other family members and recognize you are not alone!

  • -Meet current patients (non-related), and hear from them about their treatment processes, challenges, and learnings

  • -Gain insights and understanding that is often difficult to grasp when talking with your own loved one

  • -Learn and practice evidenced-based CRAFT skills around positive communication and how to better understand your loved one's behaviors/choices, from CRAFT-trained staff members

  • -Hear others' stories, and share some of your own

  • -Participate in visitation with your loved one (if applicable, 4:30 - 5:00 p.m.)

The fee for this one-day, intensive, in-person program is $400 per participant.

Once you have registered, you will receive 2 emails, one will confirm your payment and the other will contain details about the program you registered for! If you have questions, please call the family access coordinators at 800-344-6132
