Building Assets, Reducing Risks (BARR) is an evidence-based social and emotional learning (SEL) model that decreases educational disparities while increasing achievement for all students. The model combines teachersÂ’ real-time analysis of student data with student asset building and intentional relationships so that schools can realign existing resources to nurture a unified and personalized culture of support
and success for every student, both inside and outside the classroom.
This Grades 3-5 Classroom Curriculum, volume 2, known as U-Time, provides teachers and classroom support staff with the resources they need to implement thirty interactive and engaging U-Time activities as part of the BARR model.
This volume is focused on positive youth development through such topics as community building, goals, self-discovery, communication, grief and loss, bullying, diversity, and personal dreams.
