The Top Secret Projects mission is to equip families with knowledge and skills to have empowering conversations at home that support health and well-being. The training explores indicators of health in a teens world by taking a look into the daily routines and lifestyles of young people. Adults are actively engaged in discussions on substance use trends, social media impacts, and mental health concerns to gain a deeper understanding of how to address these topics with adolescents. The training provides tools and resources to adults and their youth that foster safe environments, encourage ongoing dialogue, and prevent early, risky substance use.
Learning Objectives:
- Gain critical insights about potential protective and risk factors
- Identify cues that may signal alcohol or other drug use and other behavioral health concerns
- Learn how to effectively prevent and intervene upon concerns in the family home
Hazelden Betty Ford's "guided tour" of a teen's bedroom
offers insight into potential risk and protective factors and creates new
spaces for parents to initiate proactive conversations about health and
well-being.
